The Opening Day of the Hong Kong Gifts & Premium Fair 2015 was a hugely busy day for more than 4,200 exhibitors and the buyers who came from all over the world to see the latest products. The day ended on a high note with a cocktail reception. It gave everyone the chance to relax, seek out acquaintances and exchange greetings.

The Smart Gifts Design Awards, organised by The Hong Kong Exporters' Association, aims at facilitating creativity and driving innovations among design talents. The year, the Awards has attracted 433 entries and the Awards Presentation Ceremony was held at the cocktail reception. Strolling around the fairground, I have the chance to see a lineup of trendy products which attract eyeballs. Some interesting lifestyle products hold my attention, and I have spotted some potential suppliers here. In the business matching session, I meet with four local exhibitors and one Australian company which are selling eco-products and electronic accessories. Having been a long term exhibitor of the Hong Kong Gifts and Premium Fair since 1997, we successfully got many OEM orders from the show. Last year, we went further to gain more exposure by introducing our new pet brand Coco-JoJo, as that segment has been growing and thriving. We were able to conclude some deals after the show. This year we have made our comeback with our newly patented non-inflatable pool for pets which can stand upright without pumping air in. Our new product grabs buyers' attention and some buyers from Japan, Spain and some other European countries have already made enquires on sample orders. One earnest Dutch buyer even expressed her interest in carrying our brand in her home country. Obviously, there is a shift of demand from OEM products to branded products.”
