“Zcan+ is an innovative mouse with a built-in scanner backed by a Character Recognition software. The design can help the users to extract typed text from everything they scan, edit contents in Word or in Excel, translate a text in Google Translate, and even share them instantly through social media networking. There is no doubt that tech gifts are getting increasingly popular these days. We’ve already launched Zcan+ in December last year and received strong customers’ interest. This design awards competition has given recognition to our hard work and provided a great chance to exchange and learn from the innovative ideas of other designers. The responses have been overwhelming and we sold about 30 samples of Zcan+ to buyers in the first day of exhibition.”

“The design of my work piece revolves around the idea of environmental conservation. A large number of toothpicks are used and discarded every day so it makes sense to do something to relieve the problem. My toothpick tube comes with a mini-sized sharpener that can extend the life of a toothpick by re-sharpening it for use. This design awards competition offers a valuable opportunity to turn my imagination into a real-life product.” You Sum Ki, Gold Award winner of the conceptual group, student division |

35 exhibitors from Indonesia are taking part in the fair, showcasing a wide range of inspiring gift ideas from the country. The participation of Indonesian companies will be enhanced following the signing of cooperation agreements between HKTDC and the two Indonesian ministries – DGNED Ministry of Trade and Ministry of Cooperatives & SMEs. |
 |
“Hong Kong is one of the economic powers in Asia and the centre for trade and business, making it an entry point for products made by Indonesian cooperatives and SMEs to enter the international market. The MoU signing between Indonesia and Hong Kong will bring the greatest benefit for the promotion and market expansion of Indonesian SMEs’ products. At the Hong Kong Gifts and Premium Fair, Indonesian SMEs are showcasing a wide range of creative and unique products that embody cultural diversity. We hope the fair will enable us to better understand the characteristics of the Hong Kong market as well as meeting potential buyers for market expansion and widening marketing network.”
Ir. Emilia Suhaimi, MM, Deputy Minister for Marketing and Business Networking, Ministry of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises, Indonesia
“The cooperation between Indonesia and HKTDC provids further momentum for the development of information exchange and trade promotional activities. Hong Kong is a trading hub for Asia. I am confident that the cooperation will enhance our relationship and pave the way for more Indonesian companies to expand their business through Hong Kong. There is a comprehensive range of products being showcased at the fair from textiles to ceramic, handicrafts and jewellery items. We’ve received a lot of interest from buyers all over the world including Japanese customers, with some business deals already concluded during the exhibition.”
Nus Nuzulia Ishak, Director General, Directorate General of National Export Development, Ministry of Trade, Indonesia |

“In business for 15 years, Global Tech is engaged in e-commerce and distribution of different gifts and promotional products. Our clients include airlines and hotels. I am visiting the Hong Kong fair for the first time. This is an excellent fair and the scale of exhibition is so big. I’ve established contacts with 12 to 13 new suppliers from Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland for different items such as headphones, mirrors with LED light, toys and wine glasses. An order was already made with a Chinese supplier for 50,000 pieces of mirrors involving a consideration of about US$100,000. Further discussions will be held with other suppliers for business development. I will definitely visit the fair again.”
Subash M Nair, Director (Sales), Global Tech General Trading Llc, UAE
“We are a leading player in the gifts and premiums industry of Indonesia with major clients in the banking sector. The Hong Kong fair has become an important trade event for our sourcing every year. I am looking for a variety of items such as wall clocks, umbrellas, mugs and drinking bottles. So far, I’ve identified three new suppliers from Hong Kong. We are also in talks with two exhibitors from Japan for the supply of crayons for kids and outdoor bags. We expect to place orders worth between US$50,000 and US$100,000 for different items after the exhibition. This is a very good fair. The exhibition venue is spacious with a clear directory making it easy and comfortable to walk around the fairground and do business.”

We provide a wide range of offerings from stationery to toys, garments, tableware and ornaments. At this year’s fair, we have launched our Thai boxing and sportswear series to international customers. A number of buyers from Europe including those from Spain, the UK and Finland have approached us for cooperation. We will send samples with price quotations for further discussions. This is the largest and most influential trade event for us to reach out to buyers from all over the world. We are deeply impressed with HKTDC’s professional management.”
Peter Chiu, Managing Director, MGM Industries & Co., Hong Kong
“This is our third-year participation in HKTDC Hong Kong Gifts & Premium Fair. We are delighted to be here promoting our latest offerings with the focus of our creative index stickers. We are also showcasing our new mini-sized plant pot series that carries a message of environmental protection. Last year’s exhibition yielded positive results as we concluded business with four new customers from Japan. This year, we’ve also drawn strong interest from quite a number of buyers from Japan, France, Belgium and the Netherlands. I expect to reap encouraging results again.”
