"I design porcelain dolls in a traditional Scandinavian style, which are manufactured at our factory in the Chinese mainland. This is my first appearance at this fair – I decided to come here because it is the biggest in the world for gifts and the quality of the products here is very good. I want to meet buyers from all over the world, and particularly those from East Asia who don’t travel to European fairs. My experience here so far has been great – I’ve met buyers from everywhere, including Japan, Mexico, the United States and United Kingdom; some have already placed sample orders with me. I like everything about the fair – the location, the organisation, the communication, my booth position – and I will come back next year!"
Birgitte Frigast, Owner & Designer, Birgitte Frigast ApS, Denmark

"We’ve been coming to this fair for nine years because we can find a lot of new customers from Asia, Australia, New Zealand and the United States here for our handmade Mayan and Guatemalan handicrafts. It is very important to us that we have done good business and developed long-term customers as a result of participating in this show. It may start with just one order, but then it builds up over time. For me, this is the best fair in the world – I say congratulations to the organiser, because you have great customer service, with staff who are very efficient. We feel very comfortable here."
Luis Carlos Monterroso Ochoa, Marketing & Sales Manager, HANDICRAFT PRODUCTS LA SELVA S.A., Guatemala

"We are promoting our new mc2 brand here, where we play with shape and colour, such as the porcelain piggybanks that double as speakers for iPods. This is the biggest gifts fair worldwide and here we can reach international buyers. The timing is good, because this is the main buying season, especially for Europeans and North Americans looking to source for Christmas. We also find many Asian buyers here, because it is more convenient for them than travelling to Europe; plus there are a lot of Chinese mainland buyers attending – this is a market with big potential. The ambience of the fair is good, because exhibitors show plenty of new and creative products."
Brenda Liang, PR & Marketing Manager, Topchoice Industries Limited, Hong Kong

  Media Breakfast Briefing
It was a very informative start to the day for international journalists at the media breakfast event. They got the opportunity to talk with fair organiser and industry experts on the latest developments in the gifts & premium industry, especially with regard to Hong Kong. The Hon. Jeffrey Lam, SBS, JP, Chairman of Fair Organising Committee, Mr Benson Pau, Member of Fair Organising Committee and Vice Chairman of The Hong Kong Exporters' Association, and Mr K.C. Leung, Member of Fair Organising Committee and Managing Director of Sonca Products Ltd., were among those who took part.

"My company specialises in souvenirs, premium items and sports awards products. We have six retail shops in Moscow and we also work with corporate clients and government departments such as the Ministry of Sport and Ministry of Defence. This is my fourth visit to the fair - here we can find interesting products with good design from flexible suppliers. When I entered the first hall I only walked 100m in the first hour, because there were so many interesting products to see and companies to talk to. I like this fair - the organisation is good. The level of service is very high compared with similar events elsewhere."
Sergei V. Stepanov, President, SANNA-OLYMP Group, Russia

"IGC is an association of 54 dynamic and successful companies, one per country from around the world, that provides unique opportunities to share information on design and market trends, manufacturing capabilities and so on. We specialise in corporate and promotional gifts for multinationals, particularly in pharmaceuticals, banking and insurance. We have been coming to this fair since it was established. Hong Kong is the centre of the world as far as premium and gifts are concerned, and at this show we can find everything in one place. Basically, we are looking for any quality novelty that can carry a logo. This is a well organised fair with many interesting products and I love to be here. The fact that our members come back every year speaks for itself!"
Hans van der Ouw, President, IGC, worldwide

Buyers from IGC enjoy a fruitful day at the fair.

  Topical Talks
Adding value to the show experience is the seminar series, with two presentations taking place yesterday. In the first, Mr Y.K. Lau, Manager of Environmental Division, CMA Testing and Certification Laboratories, spoke on "REACH – Update on Substance of Very High Concern (SVHC) Candidate List". This was followed later in the day by the topic "The Latest Product Trend of Lifestyle Items and Gifts", featuring speaker Mr Michael Leow, Founder and CEO of Creative Trends Services.
The audience are keen to hear details of the latest trends in lifestyle products from Mr Leow.   Mr Lau updates the audience on the latest developments regarding REACH.

  Crafty Expression
Fairground visitors took time out of their busy schedules at the show to check out the two DIY demonstrations, both very relevant to the world of gifts.
The intricacies of Mosaic Mirror work attract plenty of attention.   The beautiful Silk Screen Printing demonstration by our exhibitor, Lai On Products (Industrial) Ltd., proves to be very eye-catching.
